想Relocate 到外國做嘢?入新加坡MNC真實個案有3件事要比人做多一步!無論想係拎多啲 international exposure 定係舖路移民,唔少同學搵工都會睇吓有無海外工作機會。但要諗埋外國 exit options,選擇範圍大加標準唔同,就好易令人手足無措😮💨。我哋其中一個同學仔Iris(化名) Y3時都係咁諗,所以想搵 career coach 幫手,慳返時間去做真正應該擺時間去做嘅事!最終佢成功拎到一間新加坡 MNC 嘅 offer,而家仲喺當地返緊工,公司包佢住宿添🤩!響講佢點樣一步步成功之前,先講吓Iris 背景,佢喺 UST 讀 BBA & Industrial Engineering Management,不過實習全部都係 IT-related,令佢覺得自己 portfolio 好單薄,希望增值 business acumen,令出路多少少💡。不過佢對IT以外嘅行業要點準備幾乎無概念,亦好怕自己喺好早就被 slash 走。🥇佢第一步就係搵Career Hackers參加Coaching Program!Coach 知道Iris想relocate嘅諗法同情況之後,就同佢一齊用逆向思維,訂立 strategy 💪🏻。無論搵start-up定係大公司嘅實習或grad program,都最好都係MNC或有同海外同事合作嘅機會。Short-list咗一堆Consulting firms及MNC之後,Iris就緊密地follow up 招聘動向去報工。做多一步 之1️⃣:Coach建議Iris報埋iBank / Financial Institutions🏦,針對 IT 或 Operations嘅Back office role。雖然要經過好多rounds tests,比較難入,但都可以俾Iris熟習招聘流程,最複雜嘅ibank都經歷過,訓練過 banker嘅 2nd degree level of thinking,就唔怕日後見工遇到更奇怪嘅問題🔮!🥈第2步就係 CV transform 同面試訓練,加強 intangibles!Coach 睇完 Iris 嘅 CV 覺得 technicality 部份佔太多,同埋太大量無關嘅工作經驗,令 HR 失去焦點,所以要 Trim 至一至兩份最 relevant 嘅工,重點提及做過咩 projects,有咩 achievement 同 impact 幫到公司📝。Iris 亦透過 program 讀返實際工作需要的商業知識、做 apt test & assessment centre、mock interviews 練習。做多一步 之2️⃣:要知公司請一個海外同事都要額外成本,幫佢搞 visa、安排 accomodation 等,所以 candidate 要顯示到佢比 local equivalent 甚至更優秀嘅特質。Iris 原本覺得自己的「tech 到爆」嘅背景係 disadvantage,但 coach 就提醒咗佢實習時多做一步,留意有冇跨部門地區嘅工作,利用佢對 data 嘅 sensitivity 及 logical thinking,主動幫手😎。喺 Y3 summer 實習時,佢見到其中一個 duty 係幫公司做 Asia quarterly investment data report,於是幫個 data system 寫個亞洲通用嘅 testing manual,同埋響 report 入面加 VBA function,大大減少同事嘅重覆性工作,令 manager刮目相看😍,喺 reference letter 重點表揚⭐️,Iris 一度以為嘅弱點其實係可以幫佢逆轉勝 ga!呢個 appraisal 對佢日後見工都有好大幫助!🥉第3步就係唔好怕漁翁撒網!其實好多好進撃嘅同學每年閒閒地都遞咗廿幾三十份 CV 出去☄️,因為同一個 position 都可以有好多 firms 開位,Career Hackers 都會幫同學整定一份 tracking table 唔怕甩漏。做多一步 之3️⃣:報工除咗上網搵,大學 Roadshows & Careers Fairs 都係機會處處!Coach 亦都有叫 Iris 去LinkedIn 同 HR 或 managers social 吓,教埋佢點樣介紹自己等等,無論係 make an impression,定問 CV 意見,甚至傾得埋拎到 referral 就更好,Iris 都 connect 咗唔少人,挑戰入到幾場 Final round 面試!Iris 最後成功拎入到Shopee 嘅MT Offer,而家喺新加坡發展緊,其實條條大路通羅馬,重點係你會唔會踏出第一步離開comfort zone,Career Hackers好樂意去幫你過渡呢個困惑期去搵出路!Recruitment Season已經開始得如火如荼啦,仲係好迷嘅話不如Send份CV來俾我哋,幫你望下coaching program幫唔幫到你?Bio Link第一個連結快啲撳落去!
